Key Concept - Earn More Than Just Your MLM

March 16th, 2008 by Jeff Neil

Besides the fact that I am absolutely opposed to someone building just one downline and having the whole thing crumble on them, another thing that really concerns me is that so many network marketers are afraid or embarrassed to make more money than they currently are.

You’ll have to ask yourself if what I just said applies to you. But for many people it does.

Let me say this. There is no shame in selling a product that is worth more in value than the price paid. In fact, you are actually doing the person a favor by providing good information that can help the customer.

Still, most people have a hard time asking for money. It makes them uncomfortable. And don’t feel bad if this describes you. It’s very common and even my wife feels that way.

When I was selling candles, she loved them. And she would go on and on to her friends about them. But when it came to the point of selling a candle, actually receiving money for it, she couldn’t do it. She would rather just give them away.

That may sound nice. But that type of thinking actually hurts our economy. And you think it’s bad now?

Think of it this way. If you could double your own income, do you think you would pour more money into the economy? And if you sold information that helped someone increase their income, might they also pour more money into the economy? Probably. So how could that be a bad thing?

So that’s why the MLM Newsletter System community will have products in there that you can sell and keep 100% of the profit. It will add to your income and be a win, win situation.

Of course this isn’t easy if you’re not used to it. So you start small. Because if you are not comfortable selling a low priced item and getting paid for it, there is no way your subconcious mind will ever let you sell something for $2,000.

Do you see how this is also a mind game? Wouldn’t you like to get paid $1,000 to $2,000 a whack? And sleep well at night at the same time?

So if that is uncomfortable for you here is an exercise that will help.

Take a product that is there and sell it for a low price. MyBlogLog Traffic Secrets for example. Sell it for between $5 and $10. I sold it for $6. A low price. Nobody gets hurt. It’s worth more than that. All is good.

If you sold 100 copies at just $6 that would give you an extra $600 in income. For some people that $600 would mean a great deal for them and their families. It’s for those people I am so insistant on creating your own newsletter, building a list, and helping other network marketers.

    Jeff,

Excellent point. I think the main challenge is that most people seem to have jacked up philosophies about money. Robert Kiyosaki talked about this in his book “Rich Dad Poor Dad.” From childhood people hear these poor philosophies such as “money doesn’t grow on trees” and “money is the root of all evil” and “rich people are greedy” and as such, they just can’t bring themselves to make money off something.

You bring up an excellent point about the economy. If people would focus on creating more wealth for themselves and their families, the economy wouldn’t be as terrible as it is right now.

    Excellent insights!
