Why You Don’t Need to Impress Anyone But Yourself

January 13th, 2007 by Jeff Neil

The ONLY person you need to impress is yourself. Yup, just you.

If you are like me, and I’m willing to bet you are a LOT like me, you have probably looked back at your life and thought about the mistakes you made along the way. I know I have, and one of the many mistakes I made was trying to impress other people.

One of the STUPIDIST things I EVER did was start smoking at age 8. Yes, 8 years old.. Just to look cool in front of the bigger kids that I raked blue berries with. Can you BELIEVE that?

Talk about stupid.

Then there was the time I got in a fight in the mill yard with a guy I had nothing against. NOTHING. Other than my friends said to HIS friends that I could beat him up. Oh I impressed them alright. I showed them how painful it was to become a human punching bag.

I was the bag. I got the CRAP kicked out of me. OH how impressive.

I mean let’s get real. I was a scrawny runt. When I graduated high school I weighed in at a whole 128 pounds. My arms were so small most guys WRISTS were bigger than my biceps. Even as a young adult I was ashamed of how small a guy I was. Hell, I wouldn’t even wear a tank top.

Trying to impress others never got me anywhere. It won’t get YOU anywhere either. You don’t need to impress your sponsor, your downline, or your coach. You don’t need to impress your family or friends.

But the one person you DO need to impress is yourself.

It’s pretty easy to impress others. It really is, at least for awhile. They don’t KNOW you. But You know you. You can not fool yourself.

So you have to impress yourself in a real, honest, authentic way. By what you can do. By what you accomplish. AND by who you really are. Do that and you will become unstopable. Because you will do more and more things just to impress yourself. You will become a better and better person just to impress yourself.

Now you can do what you want. But in order to be real to yourself, well, you have to be the real you. One thing I suggest is start going against the grain. When everyone says turn left, you turn right. If you feel like farting in public, let her rip! Whatever.

Your goal is not to become a social outcast or misfit. But realize that you are different and you WANT to be different.

Me? I’m always looking for little ways to be different. Not to be noticed but to be ME. When I was 38 I shaved my head. I’m not going bald. I just decided I might like it. I do.

My boss hated it. My mother hated it. But I LIKE it. Not a big thing. But’s it is me.

When I was 40 I finally got that tattoo I always wanted. I decided to heck with what OTHER people thought.  I put a BIG ol’ tattoo on my SCRAWNY little arm.

And it felt good because that’s who I AM, not what others wanted me to be. By doing what JEFF wanted to I further impressed myself, by being MORE myself. And people are DRAWN to that. They really are.

So first you need to BE yourself. Continue to find out who you are on the inside. Stop caring what everyone else thinks about you. Most of the time they don’t even notice or care anyway. They’re too busy worrying about themselves and what people think about THEM.

Then you can start doing the things you REALLY want to do. Not what people think you SHOULD do. Maybe it’s MLM. Maybe not.

Discover yourself. Impress yourself. And the world will be AMAZED. Or maybe not, but you won’t care anyway. Will you?

Why Aren’t You Using a Funded Proposal System?

January 7th, 2007 by Jeff Neil

Why aren’t you using a funded proposal system? Really, why not? Are you against earning money?

Most people in network marketing are just NOT doing enough advertising. They don’t have enough people going through their sales process, or marketing system, or whatever the heck you want to call it. The REASON they do not have enough people going through their system is because they CAN - NOT - AFFORD to do more advertising than they are already doing.

They can’t afford it. They don’t dare to risk it.

It’s good to set a limit on your advertising spending. You should stick to a budget that you can stick with. One that you can afford. But if you can not get to a point where you EARN more than you are spending… When will things ever change? They won’t. You will just keep repeating history over and over again.

Maybe right now you are buying leads and emailing them. Oh, maybe you actually call them. Maybe you are spending rediculous amounts of money at Google Adwords . Nothing wrong with that. I use Adwords quite a bit.

But for most people that will only bring a LIMITED amunt of people interested in what you have to offer. And I dont care what it is you are offering.

In most cases, network marketers actually spend more than they are earning. They are paying for a DREAM that they will never get to see come to reality. Because they can not afford to EXPAND their advertising budget and methods.

If you knew how, you could actually advertise through mail order. Yu could use post cards. You could place advertisements all over the place. Business magazines. Success magazines. Local papers. You name it. The more the better, right?

But you need to be able to afford it. If you don’t have an offline system in place you could create one. You could expand. You might have to learn some things. Hey, you might even have to TEST some things to see if it really works.

You might lose money testing something. But if you were making enough CASH already, you could afford to. With a funded proposal you could be earning that cash. Do you see that?

But INSTEAD, most people just try to get people to JOIN. They try to build a residual income FIRST>

NO. Don’t do that. It’s too slow for most people. Sell something first. Even before that offer something for free. Help people with what they want. Then you offer a low cost product that will help them more. Then a higher priced product that will help EVEN MORE.

You’re building a relationship when you do this. Don’t be afraid to accept money for something good. Later, when they TRUST you, then you can backend them into a residual program. It’s real world business.

It’s called a funded proposal. That’s how those big dogs can build such huge downlines. Because they can afford to do all that advertising. You can too. It might take awhile, sure. But you have to start somewhere right?

Com’ on. Stop doing MLM ass backwards already.

Here’s What Most People Never Get about MLM

January 1st, 2007 by Jeff Neil

Here’s what most people never get about mlm. How to earn money. Seriously. Most people do not have a clue about earning money in network marketing.

I want you to think about this.

In the last decade the amount of MLM Opportunities has grown by 500% Yes, that is 500. Two Zero’s. Yet during the same period of time the amount of distributers has only grown by 15%.

So what does that tell you?

Well it tells me that the odds of a new peson joining this industry, joining MY program, is pretty damn slim. No matter how much advertising I do, emails, phone calls, post cards, etc, etc, etc…

The odds of anyone joining are slim because most people have already been approached about a home based business opportunity, or they are IN one already.

Because I sell candles I can target people who are looking specifically for a candle business. And I do. But the normal business opportunity seeker will most likely not join my program.

I mean that’s OK. Say 1% actually do join. Over time your business would start to grow. But it’s going to take an AWEFUL LONG TIME to see much income that way.

Don’t you think?

So instead of just running around asking “Wanna Join? Wanna Join?”  You should become an advocate for this industry. A friend. A coach. Offer value to people ALREADY IN network marketing.

You could offer leads. You could offer training. By doing this you can earn from the ones that would have said NO. And at the same time be doing something GOOD for your fellow mlmer’s.

Network marketers spend more on training and marketing their business than they do on their own monthly product purchase. If you were the one HELPING them build their own business you could be the one PROFITING from them building their own business.

You win. They win. The world, and the mlm industry is a better place. That is what the 123 MLM System is all about.
