Stop Being so Damn Greedy Part 1

February 25th, 2007 by Jeff Neil

Stop being so damn greedy. Uncle Jeff! You just said the “D” word. Yes I did. And I expect before my life is over I will say it again.

Listen. Greed is half the problem in this industry. People telling lies, using fear of loss, intimidation. ANYTHING. Just to get a person to join.

Hey, I’ve been there. I’ve done that. I’m human, and no better than anyone else. And yeah, it might make you some money for a little while. But when you only promise money, you GIVE them the reason to QUIT. Let me repeat that.

When you ONLY promise money you give them the reason to quit.

So they quit. Then they join something else. Then they quit. Join-Quit. Join-Quit. Repeating the cycle over and over.

Now they don’t trust anyone. Now they won’t believe a word anyone says. Now they won’t join. Now they won’t ACT. It’s a downward spiral.

Personally, I have been selling information for quite awhile.  And I’ll tell you something…. Network marketers are afraid to buy anything. Even when it’s really really good. Because they are afraid of getting ripped off. Because they are afraid of being WRONG.

So what’s the solution? Good question.

In MY opinion, we need to be FOR the prospect. We need to be FOR the customer. Not in our WORDS. In our actions. And more improtantly, in our HEARTS.

Because you can SAY anything you want. But what is in your heart is what you will be really saying. Even if it doesn’t come from your lips.

I’m going to stop here for now, and call it the end of Part 1. Much more to this coming if you care to read more. I really hope you will take the time to THINK about what I’m saying here.

Submit Your Articles to MLM Articles Online

February 24th, 2007 by Jeff Neil

Hey folks,

One of the things I feel is very important for online marketing is marketing by writing and submitting articles. Articles will help your network marketing business by branding yourself. Letting people know you exist and who you are.

Articles also help with search engine results, and, help bring traffic to your website.

OK. I’m not going to cover article marketing here. Not today anyway. Just that you CAN do it. You don’t have to be an expert at mlm, or even an expert writer. Not by any means. All you have to do is step up to the plate, write and submit.

Wash, rinse, repeat.

IF there is enough interest I am willing to write more about article marketing on my old article marketing blog . As if I don’t have enough to keep me busy ;)

Not only will people read your articles as they are trying to learn about network marketing, webmasters will also use your articles on their websites to make their websites bigger. This means even more links and more traffic for you.

But first you need a place to submit your mlm articles. I have such a place. MLM Articles Online . My new article directory I built specifically for us network marketers.

My generic article directory has done quite well and I expect this one to do even better. One reason is the topic is mlm specific. So people looking for network marketing related articles will find it easy to get what they are looking for. Plus, I have much more interest in helping my fellow network marketers than I do, say, someone who has a website about toilet seat covers. So I will put more effort into this article directory than my generic one.

I want this to help spread the word about YOU. However, I can not do this alone. I need your help. I need you to submit your article there. AND I need you to tell your upline, downline and other network marketing buds about this mlm articles directory.

Will you do that for me?

Thanks!

It’s http://mlmarticlesonline.com

Is That My Butt?

February 21st, 2007 by Jeff Neil

Here is an old article I wrote. SO old It’s older than all but one of my grandchildren. However, it is based on proven marketing principles that withstand the test of time. Much different than the latest Internet gimmick that changes every 5 days.

Is That My Butt? Secrets to a Powerful Headline.

Is that my butt? Now that’s an interesting question. But to
be quite honest I’m not concerned with my butt. Not your
butt. Not any one’s butt.

But…

The question sure got your attention. Just like it got mine.
And that is the purpose of a powerful headline.

Let’s start this story from the beginning:

Here I am sitting at the doctors office. I’m waiting for
my wife to get done with her check up. And no, we are not
expecting a baby, thank you.

Anyway… Here I sit. Notebook in hand. I brought it to
write some content for a new website. So I’m looking around
just waiting (hoping?) for the creative juices to start
flowing.

You know how it is waiting at the doctors office. I started
staring at all those magazines. You know… All those waiting
room magazines. No Hot Rod or anything interesting like that.

And then I saw it. “Is That My Butt?”. Right on the front
cover of Seventeen, April, 2002 Edition.

Normally that’s not the type of reading I’m into. But I
couldn’t resist. I just had to find out what the heck that
question was all about.

So yes, I walked clear across the waiting room just to see
that magazine. The story was about jeans. No, I did not read
it. But the headline worked. And it worked well!

And that’s what you need to do with your headlines. Grab
their attention. And to be really effective you should be a
little creative. You’ve got a lot of competition out there
so sometimes being completely of the wall is required. As
long as you can make it fit.

Some of the best headlines I’ve ever seen are at the
supermarket check out. The tabloids. Headlines like Three
Headed Martian Calls 97 Year old Grandmother from Outer
Space.

Yeah, it’s silly. But people look. And then they see other
headlines like 33 Year old Kansas School Teacher Reveals
Life after 17 Divorces.

That’s a slightly more believable. And people want to know.
So they buy.

Here’s four things you can put in your headlines to make
them pull.

Benefit
How to make money. Most of us want to know how to make more.
Don’t you? If someone knows more about a subject than we do,
we want to know. Nosy creatures, aren’t we?

Occupation
What’s the job of the person with all this knowledge? Is it
an expert of some kind sharing their valuable secrets? Or
some average Joe that stumbles on a unique idea.

Geography
Where do they live or where did this happen?

Odd numbers
Odd numbers make your headline more specific and believable.

This type of headline works because people want to know
about people. And they (we) want to know what other people
know that can improve our lives.

Shall we try one?

Benefit: How to be debt free.

Occupation: Financial Consultant

Geography: Florida

Odd Numbers: 27, 5

27 year Financial Consultant from Florida Reveals How to
Become Debt Free in 5 years or Less…

That’s something that people want to know. And that’s a
headline that gets attention, gets read, and makes sales.
When it comes to email, you can`t put all that in the
subject line. But you sure can come up with some creative
ones to get read.

And if they don`t get read why bother.

Play around with some interesting, even zany headlines.
Those headlines your upline, downline, and crossline are
using are getting more worn out than your old Elvis 45`s.

After all, *Is That My Butt? 37 Year Old  Maine Ex Cop Tells
How the Answer Can Increase Your Profit By 277%*

Why MLM is Just Like Dating

February 19th, 2007 by Jeff Neil

It`s just like dating. That`s what Network Marketing is.

Truth is I haven`t dated in years. Been married twice: Forever. But I do remember. Do you? Yeah, those teenage years. The dreams. The hopes. The goals. The girls, the…

Well you know.

Anyway, when it came to dating, we all had different goals in mind. And we wanted to connect with different types of people. For instance I knew many young ladies who couldn`t wait to get married and start a family. They wanted a long term relationship. A husband. Kids. A white picket fence. But they were willing to *wait* for the right guy.

Then there were others that could care less about a relationship. They just wanted to get down to business. With almost anyone! They were ready NOW.

Business, network marketing, and personal growing is a non stop learning process. And one thing that *I* have learned is… Network marketing is SO MUCH like dating.

You see before I got involved in NWM I was an Internet Marketer. I could build websites. I could get traffic, get good listing in search engines. make some sales and all that stuff. So getting people to go to my website wasn`t too hard. Heck getting people to join wasn`t too difficult. Because I found people who wanted to get down to business NOW.

But there was a problem. I never created a trusting relationship. Both myself and these new members jumped in together with both feet. But it never lasted. They quit.  They quit because we didn`t get to know each other at all. They quit because they didn`t know what to expect.

They quit because *I* didn`t know what they really wanted out of life. They quit because *they* didn`t know what they wanted out of life.

They quit because NEITHER of us took the time to find out and learn how to get there. Because we wanted it all now.

Hmmm, kinda reminds me of my first marriage.
So I learned. I always am. I learned that in order to create a Long Term Busines you need to create a long term relationship.I learned that this is a PEOPLE business.I learned that people are different. So *you* have to be
different.

SLOW IT DOWN a bit for faster results.
